Hi, i have an assigment to make a "reminder" software that reads data from a database and displays the info on the computer screen.. I have made the database and now i need to start programming the software. For the start, i just need to make something installable on the computer, that it would appear in the windows startup menu (i mean that it should run itself everytime the computer gets turned on), and it would have an icon in the bottom right corner (next to the clock). Also it should display some (any) message when i click on the icon near the clock (or w/o the click).. Note, i have never done anything like this, so i have no idea with what software or with what language i should make this happen.. So yeah, any advice on where and with what i should start, would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, i need help creating a database for a software that im supposed to do. My english isnt the best but ill try to my best to explain what i need and hopefully someone will understand and help me. My assignment - "reminder" software. It would read messages from database and display them on desktop. Heres a pic of the database im trying to make: There would be 1 person (administrator) that creates new users (or deletes old ones), those users then can login to the software and are able to receive messages. I was thinking that administrator could write a message, pick date (year/month/day), and then pick a user ID (to send this message to one specific person) or group ID (to send this message to many people). All this would be done from database. What i need help with - figure out what "fields" i need (like - username/password/message_year/message_month etc) This is what iv come up with so far: Am i going in the right direction with this? any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. P.S. sorry if i posted this in the wrong section or this isnt the forum for this kinda stuff :x

I got a log-in form with database, it only logs if such username and password exists. Hey again, was making a registration form with php and postgresql and im stuck at making a 'log out' button, i need to make something simple like - press on a link, it redirects u to the index page and if u try to go 'back' it wouldn't let u.. Hi, idk what to write in google for this, so ill try to explain it here so that maybe someone would point me in the right direction on what i should look for.. so i have two image folders, 1st folder with thumbnails, 2nd with original sized images. basically what i want is : Load thumbnails on page -> click on thumbnail = popup new window with original sized image i have done the 'load thumbnails from folder' part, but i cant even click on them (nothing happens when i hover with mouse on thumbnail). i was thinking adding smth like "<a href=""></a>" to this: echo "<img style='border:thin solid #FFF;margin-top:10px;margin-left:10px;margin-right:10px' src='{$images[$i]}'alt='{$images[$i]}' />"; then i somehow link the 'href' to original sized images folders, but ofc i failed badly.. so yeah, any suggestions on what i should look for would be great, thx in advance.

Also, how do i add an 'overflow'? i mean, my images currently are displayed in a div, and i wanna make it so that if the folder has lets say 9 images, it would only display 6 of them, and the rest would be displayed in the same div after i click a button or smth (like '1' for the first div and '2' would appear if theres an overflow, and when i click '2' the rest of the images would appear). To make these adjustments do i need to make a different php file or do i change something in this code? Thx in advance.

Hello again, i need to do a form that uploads an image, makes a thumbnail of it and puts a watermark image and text on the thumbnail.. Iv managed to do the uploading part, making the thumbnail, then making a watermarked thumbnail (with image) , and i need some help with the watermark text part.. What im thinking of - generate a text image, then apply it to the watermark, then add the watermark with text to the thumbnail. thx for the fast reply, any ideas why the onsubmit() function isnt working properly? it works with some delay, i have to do the same action twice for it to display (everything else works, it uploads the file just shows delayed message) the correct message

Hello, iv found some guides on how to make this form with restrictions, but some of them are not working. Problems that im having with this: 1) It uploads an image even if its size is bigger than the MAX_SIZE (it shows a message that the file size is too big but uploads anyway) (if i pick a file thats not jpeg/png/jpg/gif it wont upload tho). 2) When i press submit button w/o selecting any files, it gives me the message that file was uploaded. (do i need to add an 'else' in the if(isset) part?) 3) Dunno how to explain this, but when pick some non-image file and click submit, it gives me that the file type is bad (witch it should), however when i choose an image file right after this and click submit again (it says that type is bad again), if i pick same image file for the 3rd time and click submit it gives me the message that it was uploaded.
