1. Is there any way that I can download the safari browser for windows? I did a couple quick searches but didn't find anything. Thanks, -Chris
2. I like it, looks like it will be well designed. (I wish I could draw like that) :) -Chris
3. Welcome! You will like this board a lot, there are a lot of great people here, you'll fit right in! -Chris
4. I updated the front page a little so that it doesn't have those "plates" any more. I didn't get much of a chance to mess with a scheme yet, but I did a little. I'm doing more programming right now, and I'll worry about the scheme and little css stuff later. -Chris
5. depending on what you want to do, some of it is really easy, other stuff is more advanced. just like anything else. check out ajaxfreaks.com and go through some of the tutorials, they are pretty helpful -Chris
6. Thanks, I will be messing with a color scheme soon. I haven't had time to mess around with flash too much, but I do have Studio 8 -Chris
7. 21/M started doing web work when I was 16? something like that, I don't remember HAHA -Chris
8. Can you guys recommend a good color scheme that I could use. I changed the main background to white so hopefully that opens up a few more doors. Thanks again, -Chris
9. add clear: both; to the footer, that should take care of the over lapping. Your "// phpshack // home" looks fine to me in both IE and FF. -Chris
10. Hey, Thanks again guys. I will work on getting more of a color scheme. Those black boxes are the "sweet titles" that I'm using, unfortunately they don't like images very well. If you moseover any of the links on the front page you should see the same thing, just with text in it. I will be messing with these a little more too. -Chris
11. Needs some design work with maybe different colors -Chris
12. Yeah I haven't done anything with the colors for text, links, or really ANYTHING with the calendar. Also another thing that I forgot to mention is that the whole layout is CSS, so is the front page. Pretty much all of the other pages have tables in them but I will eventually convert everything to CSS. as for the top navigation i don't really see what you are talking about with the top nav. Can you take a screen shot or something? Thanks, -Chris
13. A while ago I posted a critique about my syracuse bands website. Back then I didn't do much about validation and this and that. But now I am doing all the stuff that you are supposed to be doing with sites. SO...I made a new version. The old site: www.syracusebands.net New Site: www.syracusebands.net/new Everything validates with no errors or warnings in both XHTML Strict and CSS. (except for some user database input) Here is what I would like: - General critique on design and functionality - Ideas on how to make the site better - Ideas on what I can do with the front page (I like the "plates" on the front, but I need some design ideas for them, they don't quite fit) - Any other comments you have about the site. - How to fix the poll on the front page in FF. Please keep in mind that this is not the finished product and I have a whole list of new features and fixes for the site and I will probably post that at a later time because it's a little long. I am going for somewhat of a local "MySpace" pretty much just for a challenge and it would look good in my portfolio (cause that's what people are going for now a days) Thank you for your help and time. -Chris
14.
Black would be good, prehaps #333333 which is not pure black but a dark grey/come black color, or very dark green, or prehaps red to add a bit pf contrast to the green header.
Sounds good to me
15. Yeah, thats what I meant mouseover/image swap. Just to change the color of the text. -Chris
16. One way you can do it is: if($_POST[month] > "")

Nope, That just put a gap between the content and the footer, the "plates" still go over the footer.

Music

Woo! A topic up my alley! I like a bunch of different music, but I'm a metal head mostly. I listen to Metallica, Pantera, Godsmack, Alice In Chains, Disturbed, Ozzy, Mudvayne, Tool and a bunch of others. I also like 80's metal a lot too: Motley Cure, Poison, Def Leppard... I have about 58 GIGS! of music on my home computer. I'm always listen to music! Right now I'm listening to Shinedown - Save me, Alice In Chains - Would? and Them Bones, Godsmack - Greed and Bad Relligion, Mudvayne - Not Falling, Trapt - Stand Up. I have band practice later so I have to learn them  ;D -Chris

Ok I got more problems. Just go to I have the new design at http://syracusebands.net/new/ in FF and you'll see whats goin on. I've tried everything I could with clearing the floats and everything else I could think of...nothing worked. Thanks, -Chris
21. I would check on ebay or www.pricewatch.com you can usually find cheap software on there, even XP PRO for $60 if you look close enough  ;) Warez sites are set up to provide illegal copies of software, games, movies and music. Sometimes you can find something, sometimes you can't...but you better have a good pop up and ad blocker or you can screw youself up pretty quick! -Chris
22. I'd make your top links rollovers. I like the logo with the black sun better. -Chris
23. try changing it to: (.band a img) -Chris

Thanks again guys. RPM: that worked for a few things, but made some more problem. *SOLVED* What I did was broke down and re-sliced everything again. I made the slice for the login right where the form starts so I didn't need to pad it any more. Take a look at the code if you want. Thanks for the help! -Chris
