  3. Hello, Does anyone know where I can find a user authentication script which can be used to log in a user to a specific location due to their user group. So for example when a user loggs in to their orgainsation's web site, they are directed to the department that they work in. But don't have access to the rest of the organisation. thanks
  4. Hello all, New to the world of apache. I have windows and linux on my pc and I have apache running on both. I have a fat32 partition that is used for both Operative Systems. What I want to do is move the Apache "\Group\Apache\htdocs" and "var/www/" folders and merge them into one apache root folder on the fat32 partition, so that it can be shared with both operative systems. Can this be done? It would save a lot of bother with having to keep duplicate folders and files of everything. If it is possible, how does one go about setting it up. I'm sure there are permission issues. To think about. Also when I am using apache in linux. I can only save files to the "var/www/" as a root user. I prefer not to use the root mode and use another user profile. How do I set it up so that I can write to the "var/www/" without being logged in as root? yours, apache nubie
  5. If this problem is something to do with permission issues. How do I solve it? yours, dahliorse
  6. I've just set up the whole apache/mysql package on linux, with the help of xampp from www.apachefriends.org. I had no problems with the installation. I ran "/opt/lampp/lampp security" to configure the security settings with no problems. Then I got phpmyadmin up and running I had an error message when trying to create a table in a database. The message was: #1 - Can't create/write to file '/root/tmp/#sql_121b_0.MYI' (Errcode: 13) Every time I select the "structure, select or insert" tabs this message appears. However I can use the "browse or sql" tabs. I've looked in the online phpmyadmin manual which says that this is a file permissions problem. (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/file-permissions.html) I did as it suggested but I still have the same problem. I've tried running phpmyadmin from the root, but I still get the same error message. I'd be really grateful if anyone could help me with this problem. yours, dahliorse
