I'm thinking this can be done script-side rather than in the database itself... here's what I need help with...I have a script that displays a list of contacts when a category is selected...the results are displayed in a list with pagination ... a typical row (display code) looks like this: echo ' <td>'.$data['phone'].' </td>'; What I would like to do is is have a "Google AdSense" text ad be displayed after X amount of displayed rows...can I use php to include() the Adsense code in this manner?...If this is possible, can someone post an example of how the display counts the rows and includes the ad file.

you holier than thou types are all alike you're the bratty sounding ones...all I asked for was something that would actually help me...not give you a chance to play the school marm... thanks for nothing as obviously your examples don't work when applied... FYI...not everyone has the time or the budget to learn themselves or to hire a coder to just make a change to an existing script... -

you don't really need the adSense code...plain text will work as an example... as for the loop..the script just displays a list of results through a pagination function... how can I make it display "plain text" every 15 rows or so? -

thanks for the reply...I will check it out... -
just a suggestion... ... if I was starting from scratch I would look at using CSS for layout etc rather than using tables...since it's only one page it should not be too much trouble to test on all the popular browsers and once it's done the content is easy to edit and your site/code should be easy to validate....

they are parse errors on the lines where the "City links" are... FWIW...I use another $row for inhouse referencing...here is the format: echo "<td><a href =\"./searchx.php?query={$row['inventory']}\">inventory?</a></td>";
-
just more errors... btw...The whole page is a php script "search.php"
-
with that I get: Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_STRING' or `T_VARIABLE' or `T_NUM_STRING'
-
Ok that displays the city and links it to ./city which is not right but it is getting closer... I will work with this for a while and report back...thanks for all the replies and all the efforts so far... stay tuned...
-
no that is the code I am replacing...currently the "city" is not hyperlinked...just plain text this is the latest I have tried ...still no joy echo "<td><a href =\"{$row['city']}\"> $city <a></td>";
-
Ok so far so good but no link (city) displays... I get a parse error here is the original "city" display echo ' <td>'.$row['city'].'</td>';
-
I just saw that still working on it
-
now the error jumps to this line...(I tried what I could) city = $_GET(city);
-
Thanks for the reply...I thought this was more what I was looking for...however...regardless of where I use this...I get parse errors on or about the first line: if(isset($_GET(city)) I see an unclosed parentheses ?
-
I am still looking for someone capable of helping me with this project...everyone seems to agree that it's possible but nobody has been able to help so far... anyone? TIA

care to offer a clue? I am not a php coder...I'm just trying to make an existing application a litter better thanks
