Configuring PHP and Apache

Dear Sir, I had installed php5 and apache 2 in our linux machine. Then i started apache and test for a php page. but it showing the code of that page. I think just opening the code in the browser. Why it is happening ? can you help me plz... its urgent Thanxs in advance Lijin
