Eh? I thought at work you are supposed to be doing work? *confused* I have a simple job: I sit in a computer lab in a school and aide people who need help with software issues or computer issues. I also log people in and out of computers... We had know one that needed help, and we had a small number of people use the lab, since it was a Friday where there are very few classes going. That's all you do? can I ask how much you get paid?

Saying Unix is a programming language is similar to saying Windows is a programming language. well yeah. I meant the for unix progamming class. C is a very useful lanuage and the unix course would be useful.

which is better about a dedicated server then a web host? dedicated servers are WAY more expensive, have less disk space, bandwidth, and MySQL databases (usually) and are not as easy to set up. So why would someone want one over a web host like hostmonster or siteground?

a domain name is your site URL (i.e. http://www.phpfreaks.com) It's hard to explain what a host but here is a link that should explain it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_hosting_service let's just say you need a host

I'm setting up apache and it says something about a domain and a server thing. And it says launchmodem.com. So wha is that? and do I need a website URL to set apache up?

How do you set it up for windows xp. I downloaded the file from php.net buts just some file with a bunch of READ MEs and stuff like that. So how exactly do you set it up?

I have windows so how do I get an apache sever? I downloaded a zip file called win32 but I don't know is thats the right thing to do or if t is what to do from there. HELP!!!!
