Hi, I'm just starting on a new site and I can't seem to get the menu to align how I want it:

Obviously it needs to be over to the left and with no black gaps between the menu, the head and the content area.

I assume it's something simple but couldn't figure it out, maybe the top and bottom part of the menu should have seperate containers/divs or something.
Hope you guys can help and maybe give me advice on my general setup with the divs and alignment as it seems there's several ways of doing things but not sure which is best.
