Okay that is really appreciated. But right now I'm just experimenting with Ubuntu. Success is not the primary goal yet. But I did regress to PHP 5.2.6. The install went smoothly this time but I can't figure out which LoadModule to specify in apache2 configuration file? There do not appear to be any PHP ... so files anywhere? Can you tell me what the specific name of the php load module is under Ubuntu 6.1, Apache 2.2.8 and PHP 5.2.6? Thanks.

Hi everyone... I am long-time Windows user. Once programmed credit-card networks under Windows. Now want to learn Linux. Got book at Frys & installed Ubuntu 6.1 which came with it. Smooth. Then set up Apache 2.2.8. Some configuration issues but it's running well now too. Then came PHP6. Configuration terminates with: "Unable to detect ICU prefix ... make sure icu-config works." Have been trying to solve this for 3 days. Got icu4c installed but doesn't solve the problem? Also no config-icu anywhere on icu tree. Anyone have a solution? Would be much appreciated.
