Thanks for the replies. I'll have to look into each language more deeply to make sure it can do exactly what I want. I suspect I may have to use more than one to get it to preform everything. Great site btw. Lots of good topics and help. Glad I stumbled across it.

I'd like to make a home page somewhat like a Google home page. But i'd like to incorporate my own news/rss feeds etc. What would the best programming language to use for this? I've only used PHP but i wonder if there's a better suited language for this application.
