  1. Computer purchased 1st January 2009 CPU EP45-UD3 BIOS Version F2 Intel ATX E8400 Core 2 DUO 3.00GHz 6MB 1333FSB LGA775 2.00 GB of RAM Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Service Pack 3 Problem History 1). 9 June 2009 After about half an hour of the computer being turned on: EasyTune6 started to give CPU Fan speed alert that RPM was 0. It would then jump straight back to around 800 rpm. A little time later, it would go off again, then immediately back to around 800 rpm. I checked the CPU temp which happily stayed around 27 - 36 degrees centigrade. During the past three months this has changed from one or two alerts in a row to many in one session. This problem comes and goes, but happens at least once per day. 2). 29 July 2009 When the computer is switched on, it beeps about 20 times. It then tries to power up (blue lights on & off and yellow lights on CD Drive on & off) It fails to come on then turns off. After about 2 seconds it tries again. This goes on & on until it somehow starts up. About 1 in 3 times the computer starts without beeping. 8 August 2009 a new BIOS battery was installed. Message about voltage change given. Previous BIOS settings re-applied. 3). 12 August 2009 Once finally started (after all the beeps etc), up came a message in a red box on a blue screen: “Main BIOS Checksum error”. After acknowledging this, the computer started up and seemed OK. Previous BIOS settings re-applied (on Aug 21) 4). 29 August 2009 Computer now beeps 22 times (as per item 2.) and does this about five times, then starts up. This happens every time now. At one startup, a ‘voltage change’ message was given. 5). 3 September 2009 Every 20 or so seconds the computer freezes for about 10 seconds. Once rebooted the problem went away. It has not come back (yet). Is my 8 month old computer trying to tell me something ?
  2. The menu has been removed from the site linked in the OP. Another page with a similar menu with similar problems may be found here: http://www.worldbreakingdiscoveries.com.au/media/index.php It still does not want to work in IE6
  3. Thanks for replying. The OP was back on 21st April 09. After reading comments/suggestions and possible fixes (that do not seem to work) since then, I added the above cited quote on April 26th. Eddy
  4. Thanks for your reply. Did the menu 'go crazy' on every page or just the first (preamble) page ?
  5. Greetings from Australia. I was wondering whether you would be able to suggest how to fix a problem with IE6. My website drop down menu does not work correctly in IE6. It is OK in IE7 and FF 3.0 and others. The horizontal menu appears on every page once past the welcome screen. The drop down menu does not stay in three columns in the given area when the mouse goes over the horizontal menu items. I have progressively diminishing the margin and padding values, but the presentation of the 'menu subject' content is starting to suffer in 'normal' browsers. Link via: http://www.worldbreakingdiscoveries.com.au Any thoughts would be appreciated. A copy of the css file is HERE In another file (h_menu.php), the widths of the 3 columns in the 'menu area' are individually defined; eg. class='menuSlideTop' style='width:170px;' ALSO in this file, is some code for IE6. This may be the problem, as I inherited this code from someone else. A copy of the menu's php file is HERE A copy of a page with the horizontal menu is HERE A live link HERE The page does not work properly in IE6. 17% of my visitors use IE 6 Thanks, Eddy
