  1. Thank you Hamza. Can someone explain to me what each of the downloaded programs does?
  2. Hi guys, I have posted numerous times here before, asking about creating a retail website using PHP. My I.T. teacher told me it was possible using ASP. He told me i should download a web server, .NetFramework, SQL server Express 2008 and SQL Server Management Studio Express Edition 2005. I have downloaded all of these and now I would like to know, what next? Do I create a Database first? Thanks
  3. I have Phpmyadmin but it's online, my webhost provided me with it. Have no idea how to use it though!!
  4. Hi guys I initially wanted to create a retail website with a database with all the products in. MadTechie was fantastic but something wrong with my install caused the project to go awol. I have started again only this time, I'm using windows!!! Can anyone lead me some tutorials please for MySQL and PHP?
  5. I am fed up with making databases in terminal so I downloaded the MySQL GUI thingy. I log in with localhost as the host root as the user and no password. However when I click on account I get this error: Insufficient privileges for user account administration. Try reconnecting with the 'root' account. When I click on options I got a message asking to create a file, when I did i get this message: Could not open GUI description file. Error parsing XML file (bad document). Really need help!! Thanks
  6. Look at the picture i sent, there is no button for privileges! EDIT: I haven't downloaded PHPmyAdmin to my Mac yet, at the moment it's just a webpage which I took the screenshot of. EDIT: An account came with my domain name when I bought it, the screenshot is the page after I logged in.
  7. Hmm this is the link my web host sent me (in attachment), i log in and this is what I see, What is it? I blanked out lots of info as i wasn't sure if it was sensitive!!! [attachment deleted by admin]
  8. Yes I do, i'll have a quick look then i'll head off to bed, it's nearly mid night!
  9. Again another error, it doesn't matter I don't have to use a password. If you can remember the post about my website MadTechie, would you think there is any way to accomplish what a wanted without using MySQL? Thanks for your help, you've been a star!
  10. Again not working, i'll break it down for you: gives: -bash: /etc/init.d/mysql: No such file or directory gives: -bash: safe_mysqld: command not found the others show no errors Are there any programs which I can buy/download that help me make a database for the website which I asked about in another thread?
  11. sudo: mysqladmin: command not found This is rediculous, I wish there was a physical program for mysql as opposed to doing all of this in terminal as obviously something is very very wrong!!
  12. So like this: bin /usr/local/bin sudo mysqladmin password ****** ?
  13. Ok thanks, I meant input this into the source of a webpage in php or html?
