    Footer adjustment

It should be fairly obvious that I'm attempting a workaround to achieve a 100% vertical height, so I'm not quite sure what you're trying to indicate. Perhaps you've got an idea for a constructive solution? Cheers, Bassa

    Footer adjustment

Alright. Managed to fix the footer and align the columns and page layout controllers. Footer still doesn't respond to my attempt to be scaled to 100% vertical height, though. Any ideas?
  3. Hey! I’ve tried customizing a really great CSS layout from Matthew James Taylor, so that the footer remains at the bottom at all times, but I’m having some issues with it. Can’t really locate the problem, and I've even asked Matthew himself for a solution, but he told me that, as far as he's aware of, his method of a "static" footer at the end of each page is not compatible with the particular CSS layout of his that I'm using at the moment. The problem I’m having is that the footer “overwrites” the content of the columns and the #body div I’ve made (my #body tag is wrapped around the #colmask rightmenu div). As if the content of the col1 and col2 classes doesn't push the footer downwards. Check the link, I’d appreciate ANY input or ideas of how to solve this problem. If anyone has an alternative way of incorporating a well-written footer into this layout, I'm all ears as well. Thank you! http://dreamweaver.hudpleje.dk/ Cheers, Bassa

    AJAX Chat

Heya! I just installed an AJAX Chat on my newly created phpbb3 forums, and everything works perfectly. I would, however, like to change a small detail in the Chat application that is written in php, and since I have no idea how to identify a specific value within php, I thought I'd ask you guys for a little help. Here's the link to the Chat application: http://www.openroundtable.org/chat/index.php. In the upper left corner of the Chat window, I'd like to change the 'AJAX Chat' name to something else. Preferably, I'd like to remove the text and insert a logo with a link back to the forums. Alternatively, changing 'AJAX Chat' to 'Openroundtable.org' would work fine. Just need to have a link on the text so there's a navigational way back to the forums, because there aren't any right now. I've looked through just about all of the files in the chat folder, but haven't come across the 'AJAX Chat' text anywhere, and I'm not even sure that that's what I have to look for. Any help, please? Cheers, Bassa
  5. Yeah, I actually think I'm gonna do that. Seems like the most logical approach what with the content I have in mind for the website. Anyway! Anyone knows the best approach when using WordPress? Build content first, then customize the design and theme? Or is it easier to customize a theme first, then add content at your leisure? Cheers, Bassa
  6. Hello! I wasn't sure where to put this, so I thought I'd post it here as it seemed appropriate enough. I'm looking for some good advice on how to approach this assignment I've gotten my hands on. So, here's the deal! My case is that I need to create a new website for a small company that I'm working for. I'm skilled enough with (X)HTML, CSS, graphics design and all that, but the website needs a Newsletter as well as a discussion Forum and an associated Blog. Also, some other functionality will be added to mostly improve commercialization/marketing of the website as well as Accessibility, Usability and some Social Bookmarking and stuff. Now, adding a PHP forum and a WordPress blog is sorta straightforward enough since I plan on just linking to both of them from the main website unto their own separate sub-domains (ie., forum.mywebsite.com and blog.mywebsite.com) and simply installing WordPress and phpBB, respectively. My problem will likely be how to add the Newsletter feature? Right now, they have a website done with TYPO3 (an OpenSource CMS) and a newsletter module associated with their template (a default template that doesn't show off their company brand, whatsoever, which is what we also want to change, of course) and it seems to work fine. However, I'm fairly certain that using TYPO3 is far too much "over-the-top", and I also don't believe I even have the time to get to learn how to use TYPO3 as it's pretty huge. Right now, though, I'm digging into Drupal to see how it works. Up until now, I've been using Dreamweaver and hand-crafted designs and CSS which works like a breeze for me, but I'd like to have a decent Newsletter implemented, and I need some kinda database stuff added for that. Is it possible to get decent and free Open Source newsletters somewhere? I've tried searching, but haven't found much yet. Anyway, hoping to hear some thoughts! Thank you! Cheers, Bassa
