dude it depends what os you have. Just search for it if it is a windows box.. If linux use locate..

 

create a php file and  use phpinfo() - this will return every thing about yr ini file.

And if either of these two prior posts have been no help, you can go to your PHP directory and located php.ini-recommended and rename this file to php.ini solving your missing file problem. ) Once you have done this, open up your new php.ini file using any text editor and do Ctrl+F and type in max_allowed_packet to search for the string you are wanting to find, and there you have it!
