small javascript form problem

on our shopping cart page, i have it right now so you can update the quantity by clicking in the quantity box. it looks like this...

<input type="text" name="quantity" value="1" onblur="if(this.value == 0)alert('To remove this you\'ll need to check the checkbox and then click the remove button.');else updateQty('1',this.value);" />

so if you put in 1 or higher it will call a function to update the quantity. if you put 0 a box will pop up saying that won't work and it won't call the function. what i want to improve though is if the quantity is 5, then you change it to 0, i want it to put the value back to 5 instead of leaving it at 0. does anyone know how to do that?
