Control Pad
I already posted this in the O.O.P. help section by accident (what's O.O.P., anyway? I don't know), so now I'm putting it where it belongs. Normally, I don't use this word in serious situations, but it fits: I am a noob at php. I can barely make a website, but I did, with Dreamweaver-related assistance, and I have no clue what php does or even what it stands for. But, I downloaded boastmachine, a blogging platform, for my website, and it doesn't work for some reason. I followed the instructions, and all the files are where they're supposed to be, but when I look at any of the .php files on the internet, it shows the code for them, not all the pretty colors and text forms. I opened the files locally in Firefox, and they looked fine, but for some reason the internet hates me. You can see one of the files that doesn't work, and my website if you want (it's iffy) at http://www.controlpad.ca/boastmachine/login.php. I need someone to explain why the file is working on my computer but not on the internets. Sad I have very little knowledge of this "php" witchery, but I'll try to understand any hard words you throw at me. Caesar
Does your host support PHP? Is it installed on the server? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/104950-solved-it-shows-up-as-code-not-as-a-website/#findComment-537203 Share on other sites

Control Pad
I see. Is there any way to start getting my host to support PHP? Ask nicely? Stop being a n**b? DeanWhitehouse
erm ,it is most likely if they do have it that you have to pay for it, or if not contact about it, or move host Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/104950-solved-it-shows-up-as-code-not-as-a-website/#findComment-537209 Share on other sites
Control Pad
Thought so. I'll try to figure out how to do that, but it won't be easy, since their website is confusing. And not because I don't know PHP.
