help whats need changing in my php.ini

hi i bought a sever but dont really no much about them now a script isn't work on my website the code is

$newpoints=$info->points+35;

mysql_query("UPDATE user_info SET points='$newpoints' WHERE username='$username'");

the problem is that it wont add to points unless its a 0 so say it a 1 it just wont add to it no error displays come up. notthing

What is $info for instance?  Are you sure it exists and contains what you think is should do.

 

Try this just before you set $newpoints:

 

assert("is_object( $info ) && is_integer( $info->points )")

 

If your $info isn't an object or points isn't an integer the assertion will fail.

 

Or you could:

exit( var_dump( $info ) );

 

before you set $newpoints to show the type/value of $info

$info is just getting the mysql query for fetching object from user_info

You could do it in the query itself:

 

$sql = "UPDATE user_info SET points=points+35 WHERE username='$username'
