Is it possible for someone to enter a url such as http://google.com in a text box and hit submit and have it automatically take a picture?  If so any tutorials?

Is there some kind of way I could read the html of a website from a php script?

Like for example, it could tell me the alternate text on the google logo at google.com. You know, like if it was some holiday, the alt text for the image would be different. Could a php script do that?

yes. done all the time. i'd use curl functions to pull down the html, then regular expressions to find what i was looking for.

 

or maybe fopen() instead of curl. depending on complexity.

Ya basically Its for a myspace layout site where people can submit their own layout. But instead of them taking pictures i want them to be able to enter the url of the myspace layout such as myspace.com/324232 and it automatically takes a picture.
