Stooney
I've been looking for a good program that will convert .mdb, .xls, etc into either csv or sql (or anything with some sort of delimiting so I can get it into a mysql database) without much luck. One program required I be connected to a database, most of them are limited trials I'm not willing to pay for to see if it's actually worth it, and the rest just haven't worked. So does anyone know of a (preferably free) good program compatible with vista that can convert .mdb, .xls, etc into csv or sql? Microsoft office isn't an option as that would cost way to much for a simple task. Openoffice.org is helpful but can't always read some of my .mdb files people send me. Stooney
That's on the right track but unfortunately it seems to be linux only. I need a windows compatible program. Stooney
Also another question. I just installed the office enterpise 2007 trial. Now when I open this database (.mdb access 97 format) it opens it and says there were errors and whatnot, but I am still able to export the first table from it. I only need to export 1 table, but it's not the 'default' selected one. My problem is that I dont get the menu on the right listing the tables so I have no way of selecting which table I wish to export to csv. I can't even find a way to export the entire database. So if anyone out there familiar with access 2007 knows a way around this that would help a ton. tomfmason
I don't really use windows unless I have to. So, I am not sure what applications are available to you.
