dogbiter Posted June 28, 2008 Share Posted June 28, 2008 i'm trying to get a password script to work with a basic user name and pass table i can get the info into the table and the password hashed as PASSWORD() or sha1() but if i try to check a password against it the lines come up empty just wondering what is the syntax to checking a password against a password stored in the database...i've poked around and couldn't find any help. br0ken Posted June 28, 2008 Share Posted June 28, 2008 I would recommend making the field longer as a sha1() can be between 20 and 40 digits long (depending on whether you set raw_output to true or not). If you're using md5() I would set the field as a CHAR(32) as this will always return a 32 bit value.
