However, php.net is by far the best learning resource in my honest opinion. Sorry I haven't reviewed any books so I cannot give an idea since almost all resources I need to start with PHP is widespread over the net. Start with simple tutorials then to intermediate then to advance or whatsoever they call that . All of these are free, you might want also to check 'em. But having a book is nice (I just don't have the budget then so I try some other alternatives).
