Use a frame or not?

The website I'm creating looks better if I'm going to use a frame... but according to my friend, it won't be a good idea... so what do you think? will I use a frame or not?

Using a frame is a matter of personaly opinion, to be honest i do like frames i have two on my site, they are easy to use and easy to set up, i think they make the site look much neater.

But they suck for SEO. Search engines see nothing. Bad coding practice, its about 5 years outdated now.

usually the same result can be done using divs or tables as using iframes using the framesets however is a big no those things suck horribly.

Mostly i use iframes when something from another domain has to be included. using frames or not usually is just a matter of personal taste even if the majority of webusers dislike frames and find them less user friendly.

And yes frames do cause terrible SEO trouble so use them with caution

Personally wouldn't now, but in the past frames have been good to display inline content without the whole page refreshing. It sucks for SEO big style.

you can use ajax to change portions of your page without a full http_request habing to be re-rendered...
