trq
Any particular reason your building from source? All php packages are available via apt-get. trq
You are attempting to build php from the source code. On most modern Linux's (including Ubuntu) this isn't normally required because packages are generally available through the OS's package management system. Ubuntu uses apt-get which is Debian's package management system. I suggest you open a terminal and type... man apt-get This will give you some basic instructions on how to use the systems package management. From there, I would suggest running... apt-get update && apt-get install php You might also want to take a look at Synaptic (which I'm sure is installed by default on Ubuntu), this is a simpler (gui) interface to the package management system.
