axiom82
Hey everybody, So I just launched this web service and I can't be sure but I think my application might be missing some key features for the market it is written in...most obviously the exporting of data records from the application to HR software for payroll imports. I'm looking for a critique of my Employee Scheduling Software located on Chronopolicy.com. So the software basically let's you create employee time policies that say what and when the employee can do whether it be take a break, lunch, go to work, or leave for the day and a bunch of other goodies that help to sustain company policies for employee schedules. It even includes a real-time summary report when you first logon to the administrator section which shows who is working, on break, and all that good stuff as well as a performance score for each employee which is scored based on the nightly scans of employee timesheet activity against the employee policy settings. The most obvious issue again is the data exports...but I'm not sure which programs are most commonly used nor which places to look to find that information. I guess ADP is an important format...does anyone know of others? Also, a critique on the content of the presentation website and full version demo as well as the graphics, performance, and user-friendliness and usefulness of the site would be appreciated. Here is my site url/title: The Future of Employee Scheduling Software | Chronopolicy.com ...at least I hope Tell me what you think of the service as of version 1.0. axiom82
If anyone is interested in taking a quick glance and giving me some quick feedback that would be awesome.
nrg_alpha
Hey Axiom.. As for the site itself, I like it. The design is clean and to the point without clutter. One issue I had was that when viewed in FF3, and I scaled the text only(view > zoom > zoom text only), the layout of your diagonally spread out features (Reach your company, Delegate your power, save time and take a massive step forward) seems to break a bit, This tells me that something is not quite right in the structure of this setup. When building sites, try to validate your stuff: http://validator.w3.org/ I am viewing 14 errors on the homepage by example.. It's not a lot (in truth, it's more justa few causing a chain reaction).. but when I examine the kinds of errors, I see stuff like the use of illegal characters.. You should be mindful of this stuff... could cause issues.) I would sweep through the error list and ensure simple fixes (like adding a blank alt attribute to your img tags for example). Other than that.. I like the site. Clean and simple. Cheers, NRG
lemmin
The white background part doesn't align to the left when you stretch it in Internet Explorer. Other than that, it looks pretty good. It doesn't really jump out as being about software (without reading the content), though. I think I am expecting a list or something. Also, I think your menu links should have rollovers. ardyandkari
how about a contact us form... if a company wants to put the program on their own server for whatever reason, would that be a possibility??? how would they ever know if they can't ask??? ??? axiom82
Sweet! Thanks for the advice...So I'm checking into the W3C validator which apparently is better than HTML Tidy, I'm considering make a table/list of features to make it more softwarish, and adding a contact us form would be incredibly useful...duh on my part...thanks The fun part is the application demo...if anyone wants to critique the actual software there are access credentials on the demo page
