i honestly know nothing about mySql or PHP, obviously.  I was following the instructions written out from this page,

http://www.sebastiansulinski.co.uk/web_design_tutorials/dreamweaver/link_exchange_system_part_1_b.php

and hit a snag.  I'm not too sure if the reason is because i'm using Vista.  Not too sure, i'd appreciate any help.

    * your MySQL server version -- absolutely required!

5.0.67

    * the raw MySQL statement in question [in a CODE block, and without any PHP variables]

    * any errors that MySQL returns to the client [from mysql_error()]

no idea, i guess none

    * the table structure & column indexes of the relevant tables [via SHOW CREATE TABLE is preferred]

    * the EXPLAIN output for your query, if applicable

    * a clear and concise description of what you want this statement to achieve

    * a description of what it's currently doing that's not to your liking

    * a brief listing of the types of things you've attempted so far

nothing really. I was following this set of instructions word for word, i can tell you that i have Apache running on my pc, and the php is installed.  other than that, i have no idea what to do.
