natbob Posted August 12, 2008 Share Posted August 12, 2008 When I try to compile php 5 on a new ubuntu machine (with the compiler of course) php give the error libxml2 not found (or somthing to that effect). Do I need to install a libxml package too? ??? Thanks for any help. You really don't need to unless your building a newer version than whats available through apt-get. And to answer your question, yes, the relevent xml libraries will need be installed.
