[SOLVED] Login Not working now!!

Hi,

We created the part in the middle where the login is. The rest is our college website which we would hope the page could be part of, however, the login no longer works. It worked fine without the college part around it. Can anyone see any obvious reasons?

Do you get any errors? Does exp.php still exist?

No errors. Nothing at all happens when you click the submit button. It doesn't go anywhere!! ???

you have onSubmit="return validate1();" without defining the validate1() javascript function... either make sure you include that js file that includes that function, or remove onSubmit="return validate1();".

We had a form validation but we took that out just to see if that was causing the problems! It wasn't!! Took out that onSubmit bit there but it made no difference.

Can you post what the exp.php file looks like so that we can see what is going on there?

if the form is not submitting at all, there's no other explanation but the onSubmit value (since you have no javascript on this page). If it IS submitting, but the login is malfunctioning, we'll need to see the exp.php to diagnose the problem.

I have deleted the onSubmit. When you click the submit button nothing happens. Here is the exp.php file:

I tried it basically like this:

and it redirected me to the exp.php page. Is it taking you there? if not try dumbing down the code like I did.

when you say "nothing happens" does the page change at all, even if it's to a blank white page? or does it still just sit as if you haven't clicked submit at all?

it redirected me to the exp.php page. Is it taking you there? if not try dumbing down the code like I did.

Thanks for trying out the code. As I said in the opening comment, our login worked perfectly when it was just the login bit but when we added it to the college page with their menu, it stopped working.

One thing I noticed was right before the

<form>

tag there is not an ending > for the

<p>

tag. Is it right on your end if not fix it and let us know. Meant to say its right after the "right".

good catch I'm surprised everything is rendering correctly without the > like that.

It has worked now......don't ask me how! I don't think we changed anything too major!! Could be something to do with the external css! Fixed now thanks!! Unless there are any CSS experts out there!

The reason that it is working now is because the ending > was not letting the

<form>

actually render. Meaning that because that > was missing there was no beginning of the form because it that that was part of the

<p>

tag. If this is solved please mark the topic as solved unless you have some further questions.
