DarkWater
SMTP would be necessary in order to send mail in a convenient way without needing to manually open the sockets and stuff, but I'm sure that you could figure out some really convoluted way. Why can't you just use SMTP? This site takes forever to navigate in Lynx. Just throwing that out there. *sob* Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/122632-simple-mail-questions/#findComment-633216 Share on other sites
PFMaBiSmAd
SMTP is actually a protocol used in sending emails. An SMTP mail server is one which expects you to give it an email using SMTP commands. To send an email to anyone but yourself, you need a valid public email server. What exactly is disabled and what are you trying to accomplish? What exactly is disabled and what are you trying to accomplish? I totally was thinking that SMTP was a module and could be disabled, but I just checked and it turns out that it's not. Disregard my original post. Well, most of it at least. What's actually disabled? P.S: Why did Lynx add those 2 or 3 extras newlines to my post? Hmmm...
