JML_89
Hey, Few months ago I bought a book on learning PHP & MySQL as I do not have a clue about it. I used the book as a guide for installing them both on my laptop which uses XP SP2. As far as I know the Apache Install worked fine, so I installed PHP... I had a black "run" type screen come up with all these errors, But when I tried my local host on browser it said "it works!". I can't remember what these messages were - as I was due to get a new pc and thought I would wait until then to install them on there. Well I've installed Apache, everything seems fine with that. Then I installed PHP and it would not let me finish the install or wouldnt let me uninstall. Eventually it did, now when I install it it comes up with the error "Error trying to access httpd.conf file. You need to manually configure the web server." This is probably basic to fix, but I need alot of help installing these programs as I don't have a clue about them as of yet and would know how to fix the easiest problems. Thanks for any help given! JasonLewis
I always suggest this, but, get WampServer. It's easy to install and use.

JasonLewis
It's just all packaged and installed in one, so you don't have to muck around with the settings. You still can of course.
