midgley
Hi, before going ahead and learning php i would like to know if php is the easist solution to my problem. i would like to create a website that allows visitors to input data into a form which will then be stored on my ms access database. for the time being visitors do not need to access the database. is this the right language to use or could this all be done in html(sending forms to access database)? also are there any tutorials on this (i have dreamweaver if this helps?) andrew Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/125476-should-i-use-php/ Share on other sites
F1Fan
I used to program in ASP and switched to PHP and have never looked back. Here's a great tutorial site: http://www.w3schools.com/php/default.asp Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/125476-should-i-use-php/#findComment-648706 Share on other sites
JonnoTheDev
PHP can connect to an mdb but it is not usually the preferred database. Users usually go with MySQL. Any server side language can perform this task: PHP, ASP, .NET, etc. It's up to you which you go with and I guess depends on if you want to extend your knowledge further. Since you are on a PHP forum you know what the users here will suggest.
