corbin
It's located in the directory you want it to affect. (And directories under that one are affected too.) corbin
It's called Google. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=htaccess&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq= Per http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/howto/htaccess.html: .htaccess files (or "distributed configuration files") provide a way to make configuration changes on a per-directory basis. A file, containing one or more configuration directives, is placed in a particular document directory, and the directives apply to that directory, and all subdirectories thereof. "but how we create this htaccess file" How do you normally create files? hamza
should we create the our own htaccess file with perticular commands if yes then show me few of them Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/125881-htaccess-file-location/#findComment-652065 Share on other sites
corbin
Did you read that link at all? A .htaccess file is simply a plain text file with sets of rules/commands for Apache to read and apply to the directory that it's in and all subdirectories (unless they either have their own rules/commands or are ignored).
