UrbanTwitch
sodaDome is a site where you can share, upload, and talk soda about sodaplay models. I made this site completley (web design) on my own. Please rate the web template. :-) http://sodadome.com
rarebit
I'd suggest slightly larger icons, not that there too small for me, but just for the style set by the blue title background. Also the green at top of home should be a little stronger, match to the blue, the orange is ok, but I think might be better also matching the brightness of the blue. nrg_alpha
I like it. Light weight and clean looking. I agree the icons are rather small (I wouldn't make them too much larger if you do increase their size though). Just some thoughts as follows: - You site doesn't validate. Unvalidated code is at the mercy of browsers to interpret things perhaps differently than what is meant to be interpreted. - The site doesn't hold up well when text only is scaled (as in Firefox, in the menu, goto view>zoom>Zoom Text Only). Especially the seach gui at the top has problems with this. I would consider constructing such elements using the sliding doors technique (you can read this one in particular). There are other sources that can be found on Google as well. - You seem to have variable page widths (home page is not as wide overall as contacts page.. Galery page is exceptionally wide!). I would consider keeping these sort of things consistent. Over all though, I do like it. Clean and simple. Cheers, NRG
cupidstoejam
Twitch, 1. NRG is correct, this doent validate. Always validate your code before styling the site. 2. Strange, but nothing shows up in IE7 for me. Looks good in FF. 3. it looks weird to me with the left nav text justified right. creates gaps of whitespace. I dont like seeing a house, and have to look way to the right to see whats is said. 4. meaningful markup goes a very long way. All you box titles, should be H elements and with a slightly larger font size. 5. Your logo should be a link back to home. 6. I dont like the blue background behind the comments box under the entries. The comments box shouldnt stand out more then the entry title. I would lay things out as illustrated in the attached image file. keep in mind, h3's dont have to be smaller then h2's. but for screenreaders, they need to know whats more important. http://pixelbehavior.com/images/temp.jpg I really like the overall feel of everything. nice color scheme! jcombs_31
Not bad, but nothing seems to hold it all together. The colors are light and easy on the eyes, logo can use some fine tuning and not so fond of the stripes. The main problem I have is that there is no container holding everything together. I also don't really like how the menu icons are floated left and the text is right-aligned. Just doesn't look right. You do it the correct way in the right column welcome guest box. You have some header graphics with white background, you need to make them match.
UrbanTwitch
Yeah, I am working on making it fluid. I will make it so the right menu matches the left. Remember, there is always room for change.
