aircooled57
got a freelancer to build me up a website over a year ago lost his contact details . basically the site is a tutorial site that pulls the tutorials from a mysql database ,there is an admin backend to the site which lets me edit and add tutorials , problem is when i try to edit at current the site echos the message "there is no item " in a pop up box. even on trying to edit existing tutorials which are still visible to the public , it echos the same error message when trying to edit! www.purplefusion.co.uk is the web adress! im not sure which files are causing the problem
Slip
impossible to advise without digging deep into the code itself. It would probably take a while too to work out how the original designer built it. You may need to pay someone to have a good look at it. aircooled57
i am willing to give someone access to the files on the server to look at the code as i do not know what files are causing the problem
kenrbnsn
Post in the freelancing section if you want one person to do the work. Otherwise post the relevant parts of the code here and we will try to help. Ken
aircooled57
basically its all the things that require editing or adding to the database that dont work user login is fine as that is just checking the database
aircooled57
because for the first few months the site was working fine no problems but now im thinkin maybe it might be something to do with permissions on the database or permissions on the files? Chicken Little
Sounds like buggy code. Try accessing the database another way. Also, has your server folks made any changes recently?
Slip
To be honest it is going to be messy cutting and pasting bits of code into these forums as you're not sure what scripts are causing the issues. It is best to get a freelancer who knows what they are looking for and digging deep into the code. It can be a time consuming process to debug someone else's code so be warned!
