leony Posted October 18, 2008 Share Posted October 18, 2008 Hello, My mod rewrite works on my web hosting company but I cannot get it work in Windows XP. How do I need to configure the Apache config file? I searched the web but not found much info, some solutions did not work. My document root is drive F which is F:/websites (If you wanted to give example code, you can use F:/websites) Thanks.... djelica Posted October 20, 2008 Share Posted October 20, 2008 Go to your Apache installation folder, then go /conf folder. There you will see httpd.conf file. Open it using Notepad. Find this line: #LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so Just delete commenting character (#) so line should look like this: LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so Restart your Apache and you are done ! leony Posted October 23, 2008 Author Share Posted October 23, 2008 Hi I have uncommented these two but it is still not working: LoadModule rewrite_module modules/ApacheModuleRewrite.dll LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so Do I have to do anything else? Note: My Apache files are on C drive and websites files are on F drive. Document root is F:/.... Can this be the problem? wildteen88 Posted October 23, 2008 Share Posted October 23, 2008 I presume your rewrite rules are stored in a .htaccess file within your document root. If so you'll need to set the AllOverride directive to All in order for the .htaccess to be read by Apache.
