aurir_
I wrote the following script to prevent ppl from viewing contents of 'scripts', 'styles', and any hidden directories. The problem is that when I prevent ppl from viewing scripts or styles, it seems like apache itself doesn't have access to those folders and my page simply has no styles and no scripts. What am I doing wrong? # Disallow browsing of Subversion working copy administrative dirs. <DirectoryMatch "^/.*/(styles|scripts|\..*)/"> AllowOverride None Order Deny,Allow Deny from all </DirectoryMatch> Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/134714-prevent-ppl-from-viewing-contents-of-some-directories/ Share on other sites
trq
What am I doing wrong? Nothing, but you can't deny access and also serve the same directories. asmith3006
I think you need to "Allow all" and then add "Options -Indexes" which will stop the folder listing files (is that what you were after??) Or, if you don't want to write an htaccess file you could always put a blank index.htm file in there instead.
