I am working on an image library and would like a better way of letting the user know when the animated gif will be fully loaded rather than the animation starting off slow and the firefox loading image showing up . You could do it with a JavaScript image pre-loader, then just modify it a bit yourself to say how much is loaded, and then an ETA.
