trq
You might want to narrow your code down to whats relevent.
berry05
i was wondering if you could tell me though where i should put the query code inside of the sessions.php? ???
trq
I don't see why it would have anything to do with sessions at all, don't you want to give user 100 gold when they register? Your query would need to be executed when they register.
berry05
yes i do want to give users 100 gold when they register..but when they register it goes to table users...and user_stats is another table that ahs 2 fields called username and gold and when users register i want the table to be filled out with registered users stuff which it does...and the other table user_stats to have gold and username fields filled out.. but register.php where users register has only the form and has include("include/session.php"); and some other php code.. that's why i was wondering do i put the query in the sessions.php file?
trq
Where are you getting this code from? Obviously you didn't write it. There is a register() method within this session class (seems a rediculous name for a do it all class). So it could probably go there. Honestly though, if this class is anything go by, your going to have a constant uphill battle maintaining this code.
berry05
i tried putting it there and it didnt insert anything into the table...its ok though because i'll just make a login page...

trq
That code does nothing but assign the string "INSERT INTO user_stats (gold) VALUES ('100')" to the variable $a. You actually need to execute the query.
MadnessRed
$q = "INSERT INTO `user_stats` (`gold`) VALUES ('100') ;"; mysql_query($q) or die(mysql_error()); Though that code doesn't look right, surely you want something like "INSERT INTO `user_stats` (`user_id`,`gold`) VALUES ('".$id."','100') ;"
