trq
Considering the fact that this 'linux xp 2007' appears to be a Fedora derivative I would assume yum is the package manager. Therefore, use yum to install wine. If you don't know about yum yet try... man yum in your term. trq
Did you take a look at the manual page for yum as stated? You'll need to run something like: yum install wine Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/138819-need-to-install-wine-to-open-exe-files/#findComment-725955 Share on other sites

neogranas
If you are running a Fedora or Red Hat-based system, you can type this in a terminal: su - yum install wine That will install wine itself and any dependencies it needs. Then you can double click on an .exe file that is anywhere on your system, not just the virtual windows environment it creates.
