emc2k99
Good morning, I've had this problem about a year ago: my service, for an unknown reason, stopped running (on my testing server). I'm running wamp 1.6.3 and it's not starting for me. I went to services in the control panel and tried to manually start it. no luck. A year back, I had to end up reinstalling windows after uninstalling and reinstalling several times to get it to run. Why is it that after uninstalling and reinstalling the service, it still won't run? Can anyone tell me a solution that would save me the trouble of not having to reboot?Any insight, suggestions and links to tutorials or documentation will be greatly appreciated...THANKS ;D Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/14308-wamp-apache-service-doesnt-start/ Share on other sites
apacheguy
What is the error message that displays when you try to start up?You probably have to restart the machine though, especially if you installed and reinstalled a service. Windows usually requires that you restart after messing with the services. ;) Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/14308-wamp-apache-service-doesnt-start/#findComment-57653 Share on other sites
steelmanronald06
backup your www file, uninstall your current wamp version, and download/install WAMP5. The wamp version you have is a bit buggy. WAMP5 is a bit more stable ;) Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/14308-wamp-apache-service-doesnt-start/#findComment-57967 Share on other sites
