The whole idea of https is the HTTP protocol embedded in SSL.

 

Pretty much the HTTP information is the same, just it is encrypted and then decrypted on the other end.

 

 

You will need a key.  You can generate one for free with openSSL, but to have a key signed costs money.  And if you're going to use it on a client's webpage, you will want to get it signed.

 

 

 

I don't have any links off of the top of my head, but google things like https, ssl, ssl certificate, and so on.
