grissom Posted February 6, 2009 Share Posted February 6, 2009 Hi all I'm running a laptop with VISTA and I downloaded and installed XAMPP so I can run PHP and MySQL so I can write applicatications which don't use an internet connection. Installation support for Vista seems a bit iffy; I can hook up to a MySql database on my C drive using MySQL query browser, and I can run PHP programs on my C drive. So far so good. The problems start when I try and combine the two by trying to run a PHP program which hooks up to MySQL. In addition, none of the pre-installed example programs supplied with XAMPP work properly, I get an error message saying that the MySQL extension is not installed properly.
