Xu Wei Jie
Would you ever use the system function ( http://sg.php.net/system ) extensively to develop PHP applications? Does it have any issues?
rhodesa
the problem with running the system() function is that it executes OS Level commands. this then limits your code to a small set of operating systems. is there something specific you are trying to accomplish? Xu Wei Jie
Yes, I am trying to use this function to direct PHP CLI processing outputs to files. But I am sure PHP file manipulating libraries should be able to do the same job but probably more cumbersome and involve more lines of codes. what do you think? samshel
instead of "outputting" something in PHP CLI files, you can directly write to the file you want using simple file functions.
