I have data in my mysql database with "Portuguese/Brazilian" accentuation and I'am using latin1_swedish_ci for collation, when I make new inserts it is all OK. But when I do backup and restore, the special "Portuguese/Brazilian" characters does not appear as they should. I get strange characters like "â"... How can I solve this problem? The backup process convert the good special characters to weird characters... I'am using MySQL: 5.0.67 Sorry for my english. Best Regards, Andre.
