[SOLVED] updating db and website with ajax, without refreshing the website

i have a mysql db that i regulalry fetch with php and dispay on a website

but i would like to use ajax to update the db and update the website, when deleting/inserting entries from the site

 

any good tutorials or pointers would be great

Is there any reason why you need to use AJAX to achieve this rather than just using PHP
