johnsmith153
I looked for a forum more suitable - but there isn't. Anyway PHP programming requires knowledge of email headers to send using mail() - so this should be ok. My question is really about connecting to SMTP directly (with PHP) and sending emails. I must get the headers correct so that when I send bulk emails I give myself the best chance of them not getting caught as spam. What is the perfect email header? i.e Return-Path, Mime type etc. And which of these go after the SMTP command "MAIL" and which go after "DATA" ? Daniel0
You may want to take a look at RFC 2821 which specifies how the SMTP protocol works. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/149728-perfect-email-headers/#findComment-786538 Share on other sites
