anujgarg
Is there any relation between TortoiseSVN and PuTTY? To me, both can be used as uploading the files on server. Is it right? If no, then what are the main uses of these two? Is this necessary to have PuTTY along with TortoiseSVN? Any suggestion would be highly appreciated... trq
Is there any relation between TortoiseSVN and PuTTY? No, one (TortoiseSVN) is a subversion client, the other an ssh client. rhodesa
Each app has it's own purpose. TortoiseSVN is used to communicate with a Subversion Source Control Server. Putty is an SSH client for Windows. They are commonly seen together though, because Tortoise needs Putty to communicate to a Subversion server if that server is configured to only allow SSH connections. I personally use the apache module so I don't have to worry about this Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/150152-tortoisesvn-and-putty/#findComment-788546 Share on other sites
