select from database to make dropdown of users, - selected by charactor as type?

Hi,

 

I dont know what this is called but I would like to have a standard input, so as you type it displays matches in a small dropdown underneath the input...

 

I need to insure that the user isnt already in use..

 

so as i type....

I saw it done a year or so ago, but havent really seen it since, so could someone point me in the right direction please?

'onkeyPress' u have to call the Ajax method which retrieves the Db info starts with those letters and the result u have to display in a div .
