zavin
I am attempting to make a batch file to automate a daily sql back p. The problem I am having is that instead of using the password after the -p it prompts me for a password and assumes that the password is the database I am trying to connect to. So far the only way I can get it to work is -u username -p database and the enter the password when prompted. Does anyone know what I am over looking? mysqldump -u username -p password --result-file="C:\backup.%DATE:~0,3%.sql" database Using MySql 5.1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/151326-solved-mysql-backup-batch-file/ Share on other sites
corbin
Try mysqldump -uusername -ppassword. That's how I have to do it for some reason. mysqldump -uroot -proot for example.
