dadamssg
im setting up a message system between users. I have a To: Subject: and Message: fields for input. I want to check if either the subject is empy or the message is empty....If they both are empty, set an error message. but if one has input and the other doesn't, don't set the error message. if both the subject and message have input, don't set the error message. heres what i have....it sets the message if the subject or message is blank, and if one is empty(bad). but if they both have input, it doesn't(which is good). if(($subject=="") or ($message=="")) { $messages .= "You must have something in either the subject or the message.<br>"; } Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/153760-solved-help-with-or-stmt/ Share on other sites

nankoweap
if you didn't somewhere before the code snippet shown, trimming both would be a good idea.
