A function that creates an SMF session. You're not allowed to use SMF's APIs because they suck and pollute the global namespace. If someone does that then I'll incorporate it into the code, otherwise I won't bother because I think the benefit is negligible. You're all programmers, right? Surely it'll be no problem.
