[SOLVED] Going Crazy here!

Hello newbie here trying to teach myself PHP. 

 

I just want to get php configured with apache.  I downloaded the WAMP Server distribution and Mysql is working and localhost displays the wamp server configuration settings.  I can even add tables to mysql using phpadmin, but I can not get any PHP objects to display.  The web page just returns blank. 

 

I have read through the php manual and changed the php.ini file to the recommended, and added these items to it

 

LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/php5apache2.dll"

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

PHPIniDir "C:/php"

 

I restarted the server and the entire computer.

 

I tried downloading php individually and placing it in the C: drive.  I don't know what else to do.

 

Please help I am so frustrated, I just want to move on to actually using php.

belongs in apache's configuration, not php's.

By this do you mean you have downloaded the WAMP package from wampserver.com? If you have then there is no need to do any configuration. WAMP setups up Apache, PHP and MySQL for you.

 

Make sure you're saving your php files in WAMP's www folder (C:/wamp/www). To run your php scripts you need to go to http://localhost/

 

Opening your php files directly into your web browser will not work.
